With specialized training in Sports Medicine, Dr. Newman offers non-operative treatment for common orthopedic conditions. He has experience treating a wide variety of muscle, tendon, and bone related conditions, as well as extensive training with sports concussion management. His special interests include the use of musculoskeletal ultrasound for minimally invasive procedures to treat orthopedic conditions, including regenerative medicine techniques such as platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injections. Dr. Newman’s ultimate goal is to help his patients maintain a healthy lifestyle, whether you are a high level athlete or someone just looking to stay active.
Dr. Newman grew up in Illinois, and he enjoys spending time with his family in the Springfield area. He loves to participate in sports himself, playing pick-up basketball and coaching his nephew’s basketball team. Dr. Newman graduated from Georgetown University School of Medicine. He completed his residency training in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Virginia Commonwealth University. He further specialized in Sports Medicine by completing his fellowship in Primary Care Sports Medicine at Summa Health in Akron, Ohio.
